Agreement to Terms
You agree to these Terms of Service when you engage Al Burraque Consultancy Services (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Practice”). This also applies to you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”). Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

Professional Relationship
Nature of Services
Our services are professional consultancy services. We do not offer medical treatment, and our services do not replace medical care when needed. If you require medical attention, we will help you find appropriate medical resources.
Consultant-Client Relationship
The relationship between you and your consultant is professional. Personal relationships are not appropriate. Business relationships outside of the consultation context are also inappropriate. Such connections compromise the effectiveness of consultation.
Scope of Practice
Our practitioners are professionals who work within their scope of practice and competence. We will refer you when your needs fall outside our knowledge.
Appointments and Scheduling
Appointments are scheduled by mutual agreement. We will confirm appointments in advance. Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointments. Otherwise, Late arrivals result in shortened sessions
Cancellation Policy
24-Hour Notice: Please give at least 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations
Late Cancellations: Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee
No-Shows: Failure to attend without notice will result in charges for the full session
Emergency Exceptions: We understand that genuine emergencies occur and will consider these on a case-by-case basis
Rescheduling
We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule canceled appointments within a reasonable time frame.
Fees and Payment
Service Fees
Session fees are established at the beginning of our relationship. Fees are adjusted annually with a 30-day written notice period. Corporate consultation fees are negotiated separately for each engagement
Payment Terms
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made. We accept Bank transfer, cheque, and major credit cards. We DO NOT accept cash payment (s). Outstanding balances over 60 days will be liable to interest charges. Returned cheque will incur extra fees to “you” as the client or “your” organization
Insurance
We will provide the necessary documentation for insurance reimbursement. But, you are responsible for verifying your insurance coverage, as you stay responsible for all charges, regardless of insurance coverage
We can’t guarantee insurance reimbursement
Financial Hardship
We offer sliding fee scales for clients experiencing financial hardship. Please discuss your situation with us confidentially.
Confidentiality and Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We keep the confidentiality of all information shared during our professional relationship. This is outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Limits to Confidentiality
- Confidentiality is limited in situations involving:
- Risk of harm to yourself or others,
- Suspected abuse or neglect
- Court orders or legal requirements
- Insurance or billing purposes
- Professional consultation and supervision
Corporate Services
For corporate clients, we preserve strict boundaries between individual employee confidentiality and organizational reporting requirements.
Client Responsibilities
Honest Communication
Please give precise and thorough information about your situation, including:
Mental wellness history
Current medications and medical conditions
- Substance use
Any factors that affect treatment
Active Participation
Consultation progress requires your active participation, including:
- Attending sessions regularly
- Completing assigned exercises or homework
- Providing feedback about your progress
- Communicating concerns or questions
Safety
Please inform us promptly if you:
- Experience thoughts of harming yourself or others
- Have significant changes in your mental health status
- Start or change medications
- Experience any side effects from treatment
Technology and Communication
Virtual Services
When using Virtual services:
You are responsible for ensuring a private, secure location. Additionally, Technical difficulties occasionally interrupt sessions
We can’t guarantee the security of all technology platforms. You consent to the limitations of remote communication
Between-Session Contact
Email and phone communication should be limited to scheduling and brief administrative matters. Urgent matters should be addressed in scheduled sessions
We can’t guarantee an immediate response to messages
Emergency Situation
We are only available for scheduled appointments. But we will contact authorized emergency services or go to the nearest emergency room and contact the authorized crisis hotline. Alternatively, you can contact your physician or psychiatrist
Limitations and Risks
Consultation Outcomes
We can’t guarantee specific outcomes from consultation. Nevertheless, consultation involves discussing difficult or uncomfortable topics. This leads to temporary increases in distress. On the other hand, progress varies significantly among individuals
Professional Limitations
- We can’t offer legal advice or serve as expert witnesses in legal proceedings
- We can’t prescribe medications
- We can’t offer 24/7 availability or crisis intervention services
Termination of Services
Client-Initiated Termination
You can end services at any time. Although we recommend discussing termination in session to guarantee proper closure and referrals if needed.
Consultant-Initiated Termination
- We will end services in cases of:
- Non-payment of fees
- Repeated missed appointments without communication
- Threatening or inappropriate behavior
- Lack of progress despite reasonable efforts
- Services falling outside our scope of practice
- We will offer reasonable notice and appropriate referrals when terminating services.
Progress Records
We keep records of our professional relationship as required by law and professional standards.
Records include:
- Session notes and observations
- Consultation plans and progress reports
- Correspondence and communications
- Observation results and reports
Legal and Ethical Compliance
Legal Requirements
We follow all applicable local, state, and Qatari laws about the provision of psychological services.
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
We encourage open communication about any concerns or complaints. Please discuss issues directly with your consultant or contact our practice facilitator.
Formal Complaints
The formal complaint and terms of service are governed by the laws of Qatar, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Qatar
Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the fees paid for services. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes to Terms
We will change these Terms of Service with advance notice. Significant changes will be communicated through:
- Written notice during sessions
- Email notification
- Posted updates on our website
- Continued use of our services after changes indicates acceptance of the modified terms.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Qatar. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Qatar.
